The
bottom line is as soon as your drinking begins to effect any areas
of your life, you know that there is a problem.
Alcoholics are not typically the wino homeless person living in the
street. They are people who hold down jobs, they work out and
have families. They come home from work and have a drink.
Then maybe another before or during dinner. A nightcap before
bed... I
have worked with many people who have had alcohol or drug problems
and if you recognize there is a problem and you want to eliminate it
we'll get-er-done. People with this issue do not drink to
party or celebrate but typically, as we all do, are trying to
distract and comfort themselves from feelings
that they don't like. While engaged in drinking these
feelings are masked.
This is a 3 phase process. We
first, if you want, will make it so drinking is just disgusting to
you. If you still would like to drink occasionally then we
skip this step. Then we build the urge to drink, this is
always emotional, and clear it away. Then we go after how you
feel about you. ALL alcoholics feel as
though they are not good enough or as good as others. We
change this perception. Then we reprogram and the
problem is gone.
I've worked with people who first had to detox and then they came to
see me. I've worked with people who daily injected cocaine
into their blood. I've worked with crack cocaine addicts.
Solved, solved, solved! These are
emotional problems not chemical problems! Clear away the
emotion that is forcing the behavior and the person heals.
