Pain comes in many sizes and shapes and hypnosis pain control goes
wayyyy back. In
1846 Scottish doctor, James Esdaile, performed thousands of painless
operations which included nineteen amputations, removal of tumors,
and three hundred major deep operations. His success rates and
mortality rates were astonishing.
Hypnotherapy is a wonder when it comes to pain. Pain is
important however in telling us that something is wrong, I never
remove pain without a doctor's referral. I changed my mother's
pain into warmth, that way she knows if she hurts herself by how
warm an area is.
The approach I use
with pain is the same approach I use for everything else and that is
to ask the question WHY is the pain there. I have worked with
people who have had MRIs and other tests and they know why the pain
is there, none the less we removed it. So to be thorough we
want to see if it is there due to some emotion. After that
phase there are several techniques that can be
employed to reduce or remove pain altogether. |
